Please sex my silkies! - Page 4

I don't see enough of streamers to say that the partridge one is a roo yet. I would wait until there is definite streamers or you hear a crow. The comb is not big enough for me to say you have a definite roo either...

Lost everything in a barn fire 2/11/13. Can't even pull it together.

Thank you for all the condolences and all the support and donations given to help us rebuild. You are all so special to us.

Please READ my thread about FIRE SAFETY. Trying to save as many others from the little mistakes that cost me everything.

Our white one same age as the brown/partridge and gold. No facial development at all.

The crest is the "pom-pom" on the top of a silkies head.

Streamers are on the back of the neck area, starting at the crest. They are long feather-ish things that tend to stick out.

Boys develop streamers while girls do not.

That's why I'm pretty sure your partridge is a roo.

Happy owner of 12 silkies, 1 polish!

I don't see any streamers on the partridge.

Here is what my boy looks like (streamers are very visible)

Yes think so too...  time will tell I guess, three really have pom poms and the partridge is definitely wind swept..

Definitely a Roo! His streamers are much longer now, the comb? on the front of his face is doubled in size, much larger than the others.. Still not convinced about the other buff one, andstill suspect it's a roo as still more wind swept than the gold and white hens who have very round pom poms :)

Look like pullets.  the color in question is partridge.  the buff one is buff with some black leakage.  That last partridge one is DEFINATELY a roo

Why is it that out of all the expensive brand name treats my child has the irresistable urge to binge on cat food?
