This is Butternut.  She's a Silkie/Polish mix maybe and she's not laying yet but her age is unknown.

"She" looks like she could be a roo to me ;)

I have five hens and two pullets- one seven year old red star, Luna, one white leghorn, Sage, one SLW, Pepper, one adorable fluffy EE, Bedazzle, and one black star, Buckbeak. My two pullets are Nutella, my wheaten marans, thirty five weeks, (who is yet to lay an egg!), and her best friend, Sammy, seventeen weeks.

Shelly - wife to 1, mom to 3. Lots of lovely pets, a Basenji, a Bichon Frise and a dog that has us all stumped; the bunnies Cooper and Stewie, the hens: Oprah, Cluckita, Chicken Little, Pox, Comet, Stormy, Afro-Ninja, & Cheep Cheep; the big chicks, Tiny Tina, Ming Ming and Riesling.  Just hatched out Pip and Squeak.

I could easily be wrong- I was just suggesting that because of her long, pointed feathers on her neck and the way her tail feathers were starting to curve. Also her crest is rather swept back like a roosters. But she could easily just grow into her feathers.

Well, the cochin bantams are gone...traded for this:

700  Partridge Silkie approx. 6 weeks old (hope it's a she fl.gif)

Poor thing must have been near the bottom of the pecking order because it was bald, and it's neck doesn't have much there either (Don't think it's a NN x silkie)

and for these:

700

Six 2 or 3 week old d'uccles.

(Hubby not too happy with my Chicken Math: 2 four month old cochin bantam roos = 6 d'uccle chicks and 1 silkie chick)

I also bought a 6 month old Self Blue D'uccle pullet (photo to come later; I just realized I didn't have one of her yet)

Except for the Silkie and the OEGB pullet, I think we just went into the D'uccle business because we already had a 4 month old Porcelain D'uccle Roo. LOL

The silkie w/ the naked neck may be a showgirl: basically a silkie without a neck :)

Raising my multi-variety Brahma flock from scratch.  I have hatched out all but my 4 original lite hens.  I have 5 Buff Laced, 2 Gold Laced (and 5 eggs in the bater) 2 Silver Laced (1 egg in the bater), 3 Dark chicks, so sweet and 2 buffs. I've sold a few extras and the new owners just love them.
