Hello! I just set 12 eggs yesterday, this will be my second hatch. I was at a local fair on Saturday helping with a horse show and as I we were cleaning up someone fould a left over dozen of eggs that had been sitting out all night and day (the eggs were leftover from an egg toss that the kiddos did the day before) She was headed to the garbage with them as I stopped here and snached them up! She had no Idea who brought them or how old the were. They were definatly farm eggs that included brown, brown speckled, white and one BLUE!! I have no clue if they are even fertile. I think the mystery will be the funnest part, i have no idea what im going to get! My last hatch was 50% so im hopin for even better this go round. Anyone with me????

I set about 35 tonight but mine are quail, guinea and chicken so I have different hatch days for each kind smile.png but my chicken should hatch around the same time as yours, mine are shipped eggs so that kind of lowers my hatch rate a bit.

YAY!! I'm excited to have hatching buddys. Mine are due in the 12th! I cant wait to candle and see whats goin on inside, like i said I don't even know if there fertile. When I turned then this morning i noticed one was cracked, it was a pretty big crack and looked like it had been there awile so I took the egg out and opened it into a bowl and as far as my novice eye can tell it was fertile. Really hopin the rest are, even tho I do NOT need any more chickens. I will be selling or giving these away.  Please post updates on your hatches!! Good luck :o)

I don't candle until day 10 or 12 then I know for sure which ones are good and bad. Then I candle at day 18 when I put them in lockdown(if they are chicken eggs) for other eggs that take longer or less time I candle those when they go into lockdown.

I have our incubator in the basement this time so I'm a little worried. My son (13 yrs old) likes to go down there and play video games or air hockey with his friends! I'm hoping that the noise doesn't hurt them :( I'll candle at day 7 and then decide if I should move them. Space is very limited with all the temperature fluctuations in the house. :/

I can't wait to hear how everyones candling and hatches go!!!! Woot-woot! I just hatched out 10 last week and am having my first experience with spraddle leg. I purchased eggs off someone else in the area and then added a couple of mine. Thank goodness it's not my eggs! But we put a little bandaid on the spraddle-legged baby and he/she is doing awesome now!!!

Just love these fuzz-butts :)
