Bad Snake!!!

Thread Starter

Yesterday I had a large brown rat snake try to clame the nesting box for its own, in a way it did.

Now the snake is greeting its creator but my girls wont roost or use the nesting box. Whats a guy to do?

Any suggestins would help. I tryed to get snake out without too much fuss, and since lay scratch up the ramp leading to nesting boxes. No luck, they pearch a smaller lower pearch only, will they recover?

You could try scrubbing their boxes to get the snake scent off of them. Or they just might not feel safe there anymore. I have only had chickens for a year though so I am not positive. I have 7 chickens and 3 nesting boxes and they only use the two on the outside. The one in the middle is basically only used for their toilet, no matter what I do. Good luck to you!
