Do peacocks lay eggs regularly or only when there is a peacock around?

What is the hardiest chicken?  Recent times have shown I'm not allowed to have a fourth chicken easily- 2 have died.

i thought they only laid once a year in breeding season, and then sometimes they can have another batch later in summer. but they only lay to have babies. not like chickens. so, they only lay eggs with a male around as far as i know.

They are seasonal breeders thus they only lay during warm weather. They will lay 2 or 3 clutches (batches) if you pull the eggs from the hen. They will also lay eggs without a male around but of course they will not be fertile.

My first eggs of this season started around April25,,,and now I may only get 1-2 eggs each ight out of about 35 hens,,so season will soon be over until next spring
