Finally!!! Red tomatoes in the garden. - Page 8

My stomach hurts tonight...I'm a bad spook.

Tomatoes did come in the other day. And I let my parents

have them. Then my uncle.

Enough is enough.

I couldn't help myself. Took a salt shaker to the garden and

had at it.

I'm so weak. But I love fresh tomatoes. And the cukes were there...

they were laughing at the tomatoes. So I ate them too.

I'm ashamed of myself...

I'm no good in a garden. I just eat it all.

What I need is.....a bigger garden.

Spook...so ashamed. (but happy)

Forgive me for being presumptuous, but...isn't your garden planted so the goodies can be eaten?  I mean...we like fresh food, right?  Don't get no fresher than sittin' next to the plant!  wink.png

Aw, Spook, after all that waiting, I don't blame you. I love fresh 'maters and cukes too - but I usually at least get them into the house first!gig.gif

Wife and I came back from town today to find mom

raiding the garden. She acted so embarrassed.

She had hopped on a golf cart no one was using and

was "just passing by" the garden and decided to get

some.

I don't care Mom. Take all you want. I'll go buy more.

*I've worked hard in the garden. Don't think there's a weed

in it. It's a pretty thing.

And the tomato plants in the five-gallon buckets even gave

me a ripe tomato. Neither the plant nor the tomato itself seem

as big as "ground grown". But still tasty.

I see next year already.

Gonna need a bigger garden and more buckets.

Now, what can I grow in my house over the winter?

In the house in the winter - chives, lettuce, and spinach.

I have only just had my first tomato and that was under glass. I have never known a season like it. We are about 5 weeks behind!

*I* am still waiting for MFB to figger out a way to get squirrel meat to me to try.  Something about not lawful shipping squirrel meat or sumpin' stupid like that.  Humph.

My two resident squirrels are too darned cute to "harvest"

besides, I dunno how to skin 'em, much less cook 'em.

Buncha Outdoor PET chickens, ducks, two Toulouse ganders, and four turkeys. Plus 2 wiener dogs, some bunnies and a rescue cat which owns me. Oh. And a house silkie....
