Whats the weirdest thing your chickens have eaten or tried to eat?? - Page 11

Phew, I thought I was alone in that. . . . I guess it's only fair - the dog eats their poo.  Recycling at its grossest?

Rose, (RIR), Dorothy (EE), Blanche (Silver Laced Wyandotte) & Olive (bantam silkie); plus Stitch, the boisterous and bossy Boxer-Boston Terrier.

New one from today (not really odd, but kinda cute): pecking the dew off of the hardware cloth when they first get out in the morning.

My chickens will eat the weirdest things...

Lizards, toads, stirefoam that came from the beach to our river, the string on my shorts (while i was wearing it!) and believe it or not; dog poop sickbyc.gif

A Rottweiler (Roxy), a Labrador retriever (Gypsy), 2 breeding turkeys, 7 poults, 3 goats (Charlotte, Tata & Oreo), four ducks, 3 geckos and a yard full of chickens...

Going back home. No internet at the house, so I won't be online as much. Sorry for any RP inconveniences.

I almost forgot! one of my hens was stupid enough to NOT lay in a nest, she layed an egg a couple meters from the ground, it cracked, and they had a frenzy on it!

My Buff Orpington, Hazel is a VERY food obsessed/motivated hen. I was going out to the coop one afternoon with a handful of pirate's booty, and a piece fell onto the ground.... it was gone before I could snatch it and hazel took it and ran into the back corner of the coop to eat it for herself.
