Woo Hooo!!!! Finally we have a venue and a date!!

Where: Lovells Twp. Pavillion (Douglas Park)
When: September 22, 2012
Camping: Yes. Excellent campground right near by. It's rustic, but the parks and rec crew out there do a fantastic job of keeping
things clean.
Lodging: Yes. Withing walking distance of the Twp. park.
Cost: To attend the actual gathering at the Twp. park, there is no cost. Just bring a dish to pass. If you are going to stay over, then
obviously you are responsible for your own expenses.

As many of you know I have been tearing my hair out trying to find a centrally located venue that is bird friendly. Well, I FINALLY found one (should have just started with this one to begin with). I called today and spoke with a friend of mine (Cindy, Lovells Twp. Clerk) and I explained the whole sorted story to her about what I have been going through trying to find a gathering place for our group that is bird friendly. Her response was "well, you are all welcome here. There is no charge for the pavilion and if you need anything let me know". Well, after picking my jaw up off the floor, I double checked with her that it was ok that we brought in our birds and without hesitation, she said yes. So, we are good to go!

Now, lets get on with planning the fun stuff!

I can't wait!!! I'm sooooo glad that the when and where part of this is over with! It also feels good knowing that we are completely welcome there

Is this the official thread then? Not costing anything? If so that's great. You may want to look at the Chckenstock thread Silly started for next year and maybe get some ideas. It was nice at CS having nametags and the swap. The lists of attendees, food being brought (as not to duplicate), and items for sale/trade seemd to help organize the event.

Hopefully my calander will be clear as that's prime Salmon season and I need to refill my freezer!

This is officially the official thread! Lol! No charge at all (my favorite price). I was going to look at past and future chickenstock ideas because honestly, now that all the whens and wheres are taken care of, I'm kinda stuck. Any ideas, suggestions, thoughts, etc. would really be appreciated :). I think everything you brought up is an excellent idea. Especially the name tags!
I hope you can make it too. I can tell you, if you are interested in trout at all (I know you said salmon), I would gladly give you some pointers on where to find some really nice browns and a few good sized brookies on the N. Branch ;). Just a thought. Nice thing about the time of year we will be having this. The fishing pressure is minimal on the streams and lakes. Shupac is a really good trout lake too. I can guarantee you that I will be hitting the stream at some point in this trip.
Hope to see you there

No electric at the campground, but the view there will more than make up for it

! I am not sure what I am bringing yet. I'll have to see what I have when the yime comes. I know what you mean though, I might need some chickens too, lol!

Geez!! I sure am glad too. I was starting to really sweat it.

I was certainly expecting it to take some work. However, I sure didnt expect to run into so much ignorance when it came to bringing the birds.
