My Rooster just attacked me! Need Advice!

I am terrified now! I just bent down to pick something up and next thing I know he is flying at me and trying to attack me. I understand he is trying to protect the ladies but that was a little scary! Will he continue to do this to me? Is there a way to have him not attack me? I'm scared to go outside.

Advice would be appreciated! :)

mine does the same thing, i just carry a rake with me and if he gets too close I shove him away.

No matter how much I handled him when he was younger affected him. I just accept him the way he is now and just be cautious

You should never be afraid of any member of your flock.  I'd rehome this rooster and find one with a more tractable nature.

Married to the old dude, 0 human kids, 2 horses, 10 cockatiels, 2 parakeets, 1 sun conure, 1 amazon parrot,  1 eccentric peacock, 1 gsd, 1 pet terrapin, 1 Blue Copper Maran rooster, and 14 world famous Jersey Giants!

The rooster is about 5 months old. It is a beautiful white Plymouth Rock.

What is the most humane way to kill him for food? Any recommendations. I really don't want to kill him but I am not willing to risk him hurting my nephews (or me really).

Thanks for the advice. Does the 4-H generally take them?

You can advertise on craiglist or put up a notice at your local feed store.  Killing and processing poultry is messy business.  And stinky, too!
