Little Brown and Big Brown (silkies), Little Grey and Gus (guineas), Zeke and Zeus were also guineas but they died. We have two white silkies but they still don't have definite names. We call them both blondie because they are still yellow chicks. Once we can tell them apart one will be Sophie. Our 5 bantams were named based on personality. There's Momma because she was the biggest chick and she seemed to care for the others right away. Cubby because he was a little black ball of fluff who looked like a baby bear cub. Another is Ruby (a cochin of some sorts) and others are Annie and Pippy (RIR bantams).

Thanks for the suggestions!

I have a few good names up my sleeve, feel free to use them as you like: Violet, Roxy and Charlie (Charlotte).

think of a strong interest or subject, such as influential people, computer games,tv shows etc-then have a look through various names from the theme that are available to see which ones fit best.

because the last flock of mine are living here/a residential centere, the autism service which runs here made a webpage on their site about it- http://fairfieldresidential.co.uk/index.php?pageId=69 inc old pics/vids and descriptions of each name.

the next flock who will be born in like a week or so will have a theme to,hopefuly something influential as its something to think about and raise awareness as well.

Thanks alot for the great ideas! wee.gif

Cheese is an awesome name!

Shelly - wife to 1, mom to 3. Lots of lovely pets, a Basenji, a Bichon Frise and a dog that has us all stumped; the bunnies Cooper and Stewie, the hens: Oprah, Cluckita, Chicken Little, Pox, Comet, Stormy, Afro-Ninja, & Cheep Cheep; the big chicks, Tiny Tina, Ming Ming and Riesling.  Just hatched out Pip and Squeak.

Well, cheese is awesome, so no doubt, an awesome name. That is the unspoken rule of Ms.Bagawkbagawk Naming Strategy. big_smile.png

We have our first pullets (2 Blue Andalusians, 2 EEs, 4 Minorcas, and 2 Ideal 236 hybrids) arriving next Thursday but we already have names for all of them! We decided to go with a theme of famous people with some obviously pun-driven variations such as:

Kelly Cluckson

Anne Hatchaway

Ewan McEgger (in case of a Roo)

Chick Jagger

etc etc. :)

Maybe not the norm but it cracks our group up. Puns are the lowest form of humor after all!
