I use a 50 gallon black plastic livestock tub with a ramp for my ducks to get into it. It's about 14 inches deep. We have tried 2-3 different kinds of filters to try and circulate and keep the water clean. It seems to get funkier in the summer heat than in the fall, winter, spring seasons. Has anybody had any success with filtering duck "pond" water. I have/had 3 ducks that used it.

I have one of those stock tanks. I just emptied it every other day. Filtering 50 gallons seems like a waste to me. Course, I have well water so I don't pay for it. ;)

the ducks and geese sure make a mess out of clean water . the messy-er the water --the better for the garden liquid manure tea..hard to beat for growing

I empty mine every other day too...but my water bill has gone up so much, also because I hose down their area 2-3 times a day..like it clean!

I am curious too about any type of filter in a 6 foot wade pool? Mine stay in the pool prob 8 hours out of the day..no way I will let them hang out in dirty water..ewww

I have a kiddie pool and dump it every other day. From what I've read, a pump and filter is very difficult because they are VERY messy. You would probably need a pump and filter for a much larger system than that. I just put the pool next to an area where it will drain away. right now it is under a shade shelter I built but once it's cooler out, I will move it around so different areas get poopy water.

CleticOaks, I see you are in FL too so if that is your routine, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised to be dumping it daily here either. Thank you.
