I live in Oregon and have seen Beaver brand layer pellets in several local farm stores. One place sells it for $10.50 for a 40 lb bag, which is way less than Purina and other national brands. I am looking for quality, not cheap feed, but I can't afford $30/bag for organic feed. I fed Purina Layena for the last two years, and have had problems on and off with broken eggs/egg eating. I got rid of all the confirmed egg eaters, so that problem is resolved. But I was reading through the old-timers advice thread and someone posted that egg-eaters usually/always start from nutritional deficiencies. After reading the feed labels I decided that I don't want to feed Purina anymore.
Has anyone tried Beaver brand layer pellets, and if so, what did you think of the quality? I know it is produced in the NW, but I haven't been able to find much info here or online about it.
