THat is great news!!!!   I love the marans, not overly friendly but easy to get along with. Each boy has his territory when free ranging, a tresspasser gets a little move-on chase!!  You kept an Americana for yourself??  I'm trying to remember what I sent you. Three kinds of eggs?

Ameraucanas over EE's and  a few marans.  They are 2 and a half months old now.  I really like this blue clean faced girl.  Her neck feathers have some light brown in them, but the body is a solid blue. Really pretty girl.   I hope I get a real pretty egg!  :)

Wonderful family, very understanding husband when it comes to chickens, dogs, birds, one big Golden Retriever, and thankful to the Lord for all!

THe hens lay nice BIG eggs, pretty blue. Blue Boy is a new rooster so I hope his daughter's eggs will be nice, too.

As I am understanding genetics better, red can leak thru. I'm am going to confuse Blue BOys offspring with a group of olive eggers from Donna RIppy. THEy look exactly alike.

In my last hatch I got 3 chicks that are white with black flecks over the back. THe mothers carry dominant white. th.gif

I didn't set many eggs as they were in high demand. But I have 6 blue chicks, and I have another blue rooster waiting for them to grow up!

I like the rooster, he never gives me a problem, never minds me fussing with his girls. ANd the EE girls are sweet as pie. My boys have named most of them. THey would sit in the brooder FOR HOURS playing with the police, the FBI and NCIS agents. To this day they can catch those birds better than I can.gig.gif

Hello all!  No you haven't missed the big announcement, I had to wait for him to pop the question.  They got here Wednesday evening but he didn't ask until yesterday.  We have been having fun and he was waiting for the best time. big_smile.png

I took better pics of when he actually asked her but they are on their camera so I will have to see if I can get them on my computer today.  So happy for the two of them! wee.gif

Hello Cynthia!  Yes we have had a fire burning to the south of us since last Sunday near Vernon.  It was started by lightning.  So far it has gone back and forth over the top of the mountain but hasn't gotten near any homes.  I don't think they are doing much to fight it, just letting the fire burn itself out.

Beautiful ring.

Why do all the 'parts' that felt fine when I went to bed hurt in the morning when I get up?  caf.gif

Well Hello there, Sour!  You know I have that issue as well, but count your blessings, at least all the parts are where you left them (unlike mine, one under my arm, the other behind my ear.)  gig.gif

Love the unique ring and I'm glad it was a happy ending.

My Achilles tendon locks up some mornings when I get out of bed and I walk like quasimoto for the first 30ish minutes. Everything is where I left it, I believe, with the exception of my hair. I could join an 80s hair band with my looks in the morning. And possibly slay a dragon with my breath. I'm a winner in the mornings!

I learned a very important lesson yesterday: when going to the gun range wear a high neck, tight fitting shirt. A spent shell ejected from my gun yesterday, fell right down my V neck tshirt and landed in my bra. It was about 436908 degrees.

Ditto!  Love, Love, Love the ring!  Tell them congrats from all of us!

Stumpy- I really enjoyed our visit in the Sam's parking lot yesterday!  Your DH is very personable.

My DH will not talk to my friends much more than "Hello".  Mine is shy and somewhat anti-social.  I guess it's true that opposites attract.

Please, lets plan to have lunch next time you come to town!

I will share the congrats to them.  SCG I hope you didn't get burned too bad.  I haven't ever had a spent shell go down my shirt.  Sounds like I should be thankful!
