Well, I lied about the bright thing in the sky. It looks like we won't see the sun till Thursday.
Not just crazy weather here.
South America (Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil) is having the worst flooding in 50 years. (el nino) 150,000 have fled their homes and waters are still rising.
The UK has had severe flooding for a week or more with more storms coming to the same area with gale force winds.

We have a dusting of snow on top of the rain, sleet, slush from yesterday so the drive to work will be interesting.
Stay safe and have a great day OF!!
That is very fortunate.
I had a big tree fall in front of my brooder house with chicks in it. It did no damage but I had to cut it up before I could get in to care for the chicks.

First, we live in a rural area. Plenty of people live down the road so there are cars but there is nothing of value in the car to steal.
Second, there is no garage so there is nothing they could get into by breaking into the car (ie garage door opener).
Third, I think the deductible to replace a broken window would be higher than the cost to do so.
Let them open the door and find out for FREE that there is nothing to steal!!!! Fortunately we haven't had nighttime car break-ins around here but about a year ago there were a couple of guys casing and breaking into houses during the day. Mostly houses farther from the road where they would be hard to see, ours is only about 40'. The sheriff set up a neighborhood watch meeting, with the admonition that someone should stay at the house. Makes sense given they would be advertizing "free stuff" for the duration of the meeting otherwise!
Deb those guys are crooks. It shouldn't cost anywhere near 2K let alone 10K to put in a sliding glass door. It would be a 1 day job for ME, a seasoned carpenter can do it in half that time.
I think the "fund me" sites are generally looking to help people with massive medical bills, major house losses or a business start up that they think is viable. The latter is likely the hardest since most people would want to see a business plan, etc. But it doesn't hurt to try.
I don't live in the best part of town. (a long walk distance from Ferguson) But, I leave my carriage house, cellar and sometimes the house unlocked. (house is usually locked when we leave for any length of time), We don't lock the cars. After almost 20 years there have only been 2 thefts and nothing from inside.
About 8 years ago someone stole a big compressor in the middle of the day from the back patio when I went in to have lunch.
About 2 weeks ago someone got into my son's car at night and stole a coat. That was concerning since it was the first time someone came up here at night.
We lived on the old family farm just a mile up the road and never locked anything. I had a big garden and sold produce on the honor system. I worked days and my wife would pick veggies in the morning before it got hot, put them on a harvest table at the end of the drive with prices, a scale and a cigar box for money.
I was never ripped off. One day I came home and the box was empty. I thought, "well it was bound to happen eventually". As I was putting everything away and picked up the cigar box, all the money was under the box. I guess someone hid it for me.

That's great. How many eggs are cooking?
