Do you have something long and lightweight (like a length of PVC pipe) that you can use to gently herd them out?
I know my birds have been pretty shell-shocked after a predator attack, but they eventually settle back to more normal behavior. With these chicks, I'd be afraid something else might get them before hunger drives them out. Good luck with recovering them.
poor babies, I don't blame them. Do you have some other chicks you could put near them , in a cage? They might come out and try to be with them.
I have more eggs than I can possibly use. I used to sell them, but didn't like the "feast or famine" cycles or trying to time worming with molt but not too close. It just became too much trouble. THEN I would take extra eggs to work to give away. People were thrilled to get them as long as I was giving them away, but one day I sent out an email saying I had some for sale and not one person bought any. I don't bother anymore. We eat what we want and the dogs get the rest. This is my countertop this morning.
