Sorry they seem to be a little fuzzy - happy to take some more if they are not clear enough. Thanks in advance.

I have - 4 children, 1 bearded dragon, 4 hermit crabs, 2 cats (both mixed breeds and both rescues), 3 dogs (1 whippet rescue, 1 whippet ex show and 1 beagle ex show), 4 ducks (1 Runner drake, 2 Runner ducks and 1 Muscovy duck), 12 baby chicks (mixed breeds), 3 bantam silkie crosses, 2 Australorp crosses and 2 mixed breed layer chooks. I love all animals.

Both appear to be pullets, but the first is not an Australorp.. smile.png

Thanks for the reply, why do you think it's not an Australorp? These birds were both from a breeder that has (as far as I am aware) tried to have no mixed breeding in his program. If it is not an Australorp any guess as to what it may be?

Exactly.

Australorps do not have crests tongue.png

I have a few polish mixes that look like this. If it has feathered legs it could be part silkie

Lol from Australia via Poland, I agree. And the second bird does not have a crest but the head looks sharper than the Australorps I've seen. Don't know that it's pure, either.

At one month they both look like pullets.

Well, the kittens aren't so cute anymore and the easter egger cockerels are in the freezer. Plus, I think offering them as "prizes" scared folks off! So, I'm still posting quotes, if you know it let me know. I'm very enamored of this new one, it may hang around for a while!

Agreed ... my three never looked like that ...

Well that really sucks here I am thinking I have brought two australorps and they both appear to be crosses! I have three americanas on order with him I might have to rethink. Thanks for the responses.

I have learned that when buying chicks, sellers can be deceiving. I have 5 roos and 3 pullets because I'm new and can't even guess day old chicks sexes. Smh lol
