She's so sweet!

So let me start from the beginning. About two weeks ago, I lost three ducks. well, ever sine then, my three remaining ducks have started to stick around my next door neighbors ducks/geese. Anyways, one of their ducks has something wrong with its leg, I haven't been able to get lose enough to see what. But it is always limping and half the time can keep up the rest of them. Well, I was outside watching them and they started walking away and that duck just sat their. My little Khaki Campbell girl turned around and went and sat with her. Then when she was ready to get up she slowly led her to where everyone else was. She is so sweet!

I've got 2 cats, Dyllen and Star. I have 17 chickens; 3 BLRW, 3 mutts, 2 EEs, 2 White Rock roosters, 1 RIR, 1 White Leghorn, 1 Red Star, 1 Golden Campine, 1 unknown hen, 1 Partridge cochin, and 1  Golden Polish. I also have 1 Swedish/Black Indian Runner laying on 8 eggs.

That is precious. Now have your neighbors tried to help the duck that has the hurt leg?  if it's not able to keep up it won't last long.

Married to the old dude, 0 human kids, 2 horses, 10 cockatiels, 2 parakeets, 1 sun conure, 1 amazon parrot,  1 eccentric peacock, 1 gsd, 1 pet terrapin, 1 Blue Copper Maran rooster, and 14 world famous Jersey Giants!

Idk... It has been like that for atleast a month now....

If you are concerned maybe with a little treat of some kind you can get close enough to see what the problem is. poor baby.

It may take a little more than just a treat. These ducks are really shy. I think I will try to somehow get close enough to see what happened though.

I just went out to look for her. She was away from the other ducks and right by our gate, so I was able to see what happened. It is MUCH worse than I would have thought. half of her foot is black and COMING OFF. I feel so sorry for her. I'd really like to help but she's not my duck.... What can I do?

Talk to the neighbors and try to see if they will allow you to help  her somehow. I hope you are successful.  It is not fair that she is suffering.

I really have to stop reading this forum, just so upsetting sometimes.

THAT is awful the poor duck is most likely in severe pain. Please talk to your neighbors maybe they aren't even aware how bad it is. Could a snapping turtle have gotten ahold of her foot? I have to agree veronicasmom It is very upsetting.
