My latest build.

That looks really nice! Is the whole actual coop also metal? Or wood? This is such a practical and clever build, you should be very proud.

Thanks Pozees, the coop part is all metal except the floor. If I build another coop It will be just like it with just a few "tweeks". I'm thinking about a greenhouse now. The place that I buy my metal from has clear panels. The hardest part was notching the metal j channel so it would conform to the arch. Also the floor is 8'x12' which makes the ceiling hight 6'. If I build the greenhouse I think I'll make the floor 7'x12' and the ceiling hight would be 6'8".

I know this post was a few years ago, but I was curious if you can elaborate on what you said by you had to notch the J Channel? Considering something like this. It would be much nicer than the blue tarp we currently have.

Theory249, look closely at the photo of the inside roof (post #3). Where the 2 x 4s touch the wire is where Creed cut the grooves in the wood so that the wire sits flush on the wood. By cutting grooves for the wire he insures that the 2 x 4s are in direct contact with the metal roofing and I'm certain he would have used screws to secure the 2 x 4s to the roofing. Hope this helps. You can also find lots of cattle panel hoop coops on pinterest and youtube. Good luck.
