At What Age???????????????

At what age would it be alright to feed whole corn to chickens? The reason why I was asking is I got a whole 50lb bag that I don't want to go to waist, it was originally going for deer food, lol.      hu.gif

Gotta be careful about toxins in the corn- I wouldn't feed it if it is DEER corn.

If it is just whole corn not labeled deer corn, that's different I think. My chickens can handle feed the size of whole corn around 3 months old, pretty well.

Thanks, it's just regular whole corn, Can't afford deer corn anymore, lol. Around here the deer corn is way more expensive than regularhu.gif

Oh good! Then I'd wait until at least 3-4 months old. I feed unsalted peanuts too sometimes and that's about the same size. If they don't take to it, then it's just too soon and wait another month or two. They will LOVE it.

ditto on 4 months for whole corn.....(make sure they have access to plenty of grit)

2 months on cracked corn

Do you have a way to rough grind a few pounds a day until you have it done?
