What just happend??????

My chicken was walking around where I was shooting, while I was hunting quail, and she had gone behind me, and flew right over my head, and I accidently shot her, and she died :( What should I do with her? Should I eat her?

Pay your respects and condolences. Whisper words of love to her, remind her of how incredible a chicken she was, even if she cannot hear you. Tell her spirit that it was merely an accident, even though she is gone, her spirit will still linger for at least 24 more hours. Then she will go to the light and find rest.

I would eat her, it would be a shame for her to go to waste.

Was she a pet to you or to provide eggs. Are you going to raise meat birds? Sorry to ask the hard questions, but on my birds some have names and some don't but if I shot one by accident I would process and eat or feed to my dogs. I am trying to be more self sufficient. But remember it is your choice.

I would bury her. We only eat the ones that aren't pets or ones that attack. If one of my pet chickens died, I would bury it.
