BOB WHITES BUNCHING UP--WHY

What make bobs bunch up, had 24 smashed by the rest this morning, they are 2 weeks old, plenty of room and heat source, really weird. HELP

The logical explanation is that, despite your efforts, they are not warm enough at night.  Do you have a thermometer in their brooder?  A draft can make them too cold, also.  I'd like to hear more about your setup.

Good luck

I would say the temp is dropping over night.

It's winter here and we are getting down to 1' C. I found putting a blanket around the outside of the box works great for extra insulation.

Are they outside? Perhaps a varmint is sneaking around at night, panicking them into a pile where some get crushed...  Just a shot in the dark.
