What breed/breed mix is this cockerel?

Thread Starter

Somebody dumped him in a friend's garden (sad.png not cool, whoever you are! lucky she knew we were a cockerel down.) , so we assumed he's a cross breed, what he could be? Or is he just an unfortunate pure breed?

These pictures are a little old, and he has since regrown feathers down the sides of his legs, the same colour as the darker grey feathers on his body and wings,  He also has orange eyes and and extra toe, much like our faverolle lady (who is completely besotted with him!).

700 His name is Ceasar, by the way. :)

700 You can't quite see it here but he has splotches of light brown, like coffee stains, on some of those long, white and black, back feathers.

Got my first chicken when I was a year old, my Mother grew up with chickens, and so did her parents, and yet still I learn something new about them every day!

1 Salmon Faverolle, 1 Indian Game and a cross breed cockerel, plus 5 adorable Belgian and Belgian/Modern Game cross. We seem to collect the chickens family and friends don't want - makes for an interesting flock!

A Barred Rock is a Plymouth Rock--it's a color of the Plymouth Rock breed, vs White Rock etc.

I suspect this fellow is a mixed breed.  Looks like he has five toes, so perhaps Barred Rock X Dorking?
