What is she?

I was told this is a quail, but I am not sure at all what kind or if she even is a quail!  I don't know, either, if this is male or female but to be hopeful I call "her," a female and have named her Cricket :)

http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x337/Koeyohte/IMG_4743.jpg  (her crate's pretty nasty here, she had spilled her water and likes to make a big mess of it every morning)

Does anyone know what kind of bird this is?  She's a rescue, she was the only surviving chick after her mother and several other babies had been killed by a cat out in a barn several hours away here in Florida.

Thank you!

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?

Thank you so much!!!  Would it be okay to place him in the aviary with the 6 female bobwhites I have?

It could work as chicks, or even MAYBE as adults but.... it's more likely you'll have a full blown war on your hands. (Bobwhites are a LOT more agressive, i found this out the hard way) lol.png
