What type of feeder do you use in your coop?

Mine just moved into the coop this week but with the increase of space.. the bedding(shavings) is getting into the food bowl even more dramatically.

So what do you use to reduce this? should i switch to hanging?  this style they knock over now lol.. it's too small really anyways..

I would either have hanging feeders if possible or you can mount the second feeders you have pictured onto the wall at a reasonable height and then you can raise it too. That way they won't get shavings in the feed. I personally like hanging tube feeders the best. Good Luck

I also use the hanging feeders. I have 10# & 30# plastic hangers from TSC, but my favorite is my 40# galvanized hanger that I got from my local co-op. The metal one was cheaper too, go figure!

I use a 12 lb hanging feeder but don't hang it- I put it inside a black rubber fortex tub to catch the waste. Kind of like this post #3:

When they are 6 weeks old though I do hang it inside the black pan so they can reach the feed more easily. Then I lower it into the pan as they get taller/older.

You can put your existing feeders up on bricks for the time being.

Thanks for the feedback.. they knock the feeder down if raised on something! they are active little buggers lol I am still on the search for something more sturdy..
