Progress report, day 3 humidity 28% temp 99.7f

LOL, Ok, my progress report, morning temp got down to 96 (oops!) but I boosted it back up by pluggin holes.  It was, however, at 50% humidity, which for here was great and made me happy :D

Currently, 100.7 and 42%  LOL

I've found (from staying up all night) that the temperature drops here between 4AM and 7AM, but I keep having fears of waking up to cooked eggs, so I don't plug all the holes.  Maybe I need to.... will try tonight hu.gif

I actually candled two of 'em tonight, two full days in the incubator ya.gif and though I knew I wouldn't see much, I did definately see what looked like the yolk getting darker! Hope that's a good sign? wee.gif

Yes, I've read that too. I just have a tough time getting any humidity around here (although today it's pretty humid) and the author was still talking about levels over 25%. Normally I can't do that without water ;-). I assume you live in a less dry area? I'm sure it'll work perfectly for you!.

oh yah, just enlarged your picture and see you have 25% humidity. So that's good! ya.gif

No actually you and I are in the same neighborhood, southern Cal! I just asked for help with the humidity issue and chickenteacher2 sent me a great article on incubating and humidity!

please share! LOL. I'd love to read it. I have a home made incubator, and I'm able to keep it at 35-40% with flat sushi plates of water big_smile.png

it has been amazingly humid lately though!

BTW, I'd like to get some silkies as well, how do they do in the heat? I heard the roos are a bit loud, is that your experience (worry about neighbors)
