Feeder and Waterer Design Thoughts Wanted - Using nexting box area

I'd bought an Amish Style chicken coop with nesting boxes on the front.  I've got 6 chickens and 2 sets of 4 nesting boxes.  Obviously I've got too many boxes.  I was thinking of converting one half/side of the nesting box area to a feeder or feeder and waterer.  Have any of you done this?  Any design thoughts on it?  Any, you're crazy to do that because ...?

Right now I've got a waterer on wood block at the side of the coop and a feeder hanging near it from the ceiling.  I'd prefer to use the extra nesting box space for that.

No because if you are like a lot of us you will be buying more chickens. LOL! lol.png

They are like potato chips. I'd save the nest boxes. When you have broodies they go fast.

Ah, but the county zoning law (and my husband) oppose any more chickens. roll.png

cover the nest boxes up on the inside, and use that extra space to store something in. Maybe have your feed and water system in there and it would be protected from the elements. Cant tell from the pic what you have inside, but storage is always good.

yes I agree, just board it up inside, and then use it as a ultility box you can access from the outside. If you ever need the extra box then it's there for you. It's a beautiful coop!
