Hi Fluffy Puffy,

Wondering if your duck's bill has an off color...is it usually greenish? Haven't seen that color on a Pekin's bill yet, but then again, I don't visit other people's ducks too often. I hope it's not cyanotic, which would indicate a circulatory problem that could be part of another problem or duck disease.

I have a chocolate runner that seems to have a greenish tint to her bill.  I have been wondering if that was something to worry about... circulation you say?

Miss Lydia, I'm sorry I didn't catch it is a call duck....  Incidentally, I've given grace to posters, and I can only hope that others will also give me the same grace. I can see that you've made many posts, and I don't want to feel as if I'm in some sort of power struggle with you, or with anyone. We're all here to share our experiences. 

Ducks can have greenish colors to their bills when they're healthy. You'll know if it's a circulatory problem (perhaps caused by a fungal infection or another disease) because the bill will have an unhealthy look to it. It's especially noticeable when the duck is swimming and wets its bill, and part of the bill can look healthy, while the other part of it can look pale-ish, purplish, or like it has a greyish film. 

I wasn't correcting you in the sense that I felt I had to set you straight just letting you know what breed it was, I hope you don't feel there is a power struggle between us, I don't. I appreciate what you have to give in the way of experience, and I can only share what I know and have used that has helped here. I am very interested in the use of silver, I use it and have used it from time to time on my flock. So any info you want to share about it please make a thread about all you know. Wanted to add that yes I have made many posts, not because I think I know everything though but because I enjoy being on BYC talking about our birds and helping were I can.
