New hen, is she stressed?

Hello, we are new to chickens and picked up our three today when we collected them I checked them over for obvious sighns of illness and they were happy pecking around. We collected them tis evening and put them straight in the coop as instructed. We've just been out to check on them (couldn't resist) and one of them is 'laying' in the nest box with her head in the straw. Should we be very worried or is this stress?

Any ideas would be gratefully recieved,

Moving is stressful to chickens and it may be a week or two, or longer, til they have adjusted to their new home.  Be sure their roost is wide enough to be comfortable.

Time will tell.  Good luck!

I'm so sorry to hear this.  Sounds like she may have been sick.

Thank you, I have already found u=out so much from the forum!

I called the breeder and I'm going to get another next week. She was really apologetic. It's put a bit of a downer on our first day a chicken owners, but the other two are doing fine.
