Help!!!...Weak Chick

I have a weak chick hit.gif and was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what I can do to help the little thing....he is from a shipment I got on wed, they are 5 days old today. All the others are happy heathly and full of spunk but this one is smaller and sleeps alot...I held him and got him to drink some water off of a spoon a little bit ago. Should I leave him in with the others? Is there something I can give him? any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Some give them chick electrolytes you can purchase from feed stores to help. A little sugar or molasses in it's water will give it an energy boost. Some give them plain yogurt to get their digestive system a boost. Sadly some just fail to thrive because of congenital defects and there is nothing you can do. Might put a divider in the brooder to keep it from being picked on till it perks up. Good luck.

goodpost.gifYes that would be a good idea to follow. Just don't panic, and try to follow RonC's directions. Keep cool and try to be calm :)

Thanks for the ideas .... I got him to drink a little sugar water last but when I got up this morning to check on them he had died sad.png I'm very sad, but I am grateful that the others are all heathy and very active.

Sorry to hear the little one didn't make it. Take care of the others.

I'm so sorry about your loss.... Sometimes nature just has to take it's course, and it's never fair when that comes around.

Hang in there!
