Hey everyone , i would like to do a little story on chickens , about how although what people say can be the best pets around!
Well , ive had a lot of chickens , and always have them as pets! they all have names , personalities and little favourite spots , treats and friends! People say chickens are livestock , and they do not make good pets at all , well i say these people have nor the patience or kindness to love the species like me , and all those other chook-lovers out there! you can train each one to come on command , i personally summone the whole flock by calling ''HERE CHOOK CHOOK'' once or twise and the whole flock arrive at my feet , a few ive trained by name! they can love you as much as the family dog , they can surprise you with funny stunts each day , and the loved ones love a cuddle , ive had a few that fly up on2 your lap , and go to sleep there! ive also had many hens that lay on the couch , in baskets 1 in the fireplace! they come in variety , and hens and certain breeds of roosters make great childrens pets , such as the orpington , most heavy breeds and the silkie is a fun pet! but i find the hand reared ones are the best , they come like children as they grow haha , and honestly you grow to love them , as they do you! there are breeds to stay away from when thinking of pets like the malay of leghorn and especially meditterainin breeds , there vicious , well most! anyway , some of you may think im crazy talking but my chickens run twoards me as soon as they see me , and are real pets , ive had a full grown rooster sleep on my pillow since the day he was born haha and he stuck with me 24/7 for his whole life , and never mixed with chickens , but only stayed with me and was as happy! anyway heres a few pics to encourage you all!
I tell everyone that chickens make fantastic pets, and mine are no exception! I love them as much as any of my pets! They're the best!!
