What a beautiful coop!  You've given me idea to add to ours.  We are currently building and my girls are 3 1/2 weeks olds.  Congrats on your girls!

My blog: nativefloridagirl.blog.com  3 Hens in the Sierra Nevada Mountains  1 Barred Rock-Mabel, 2 RIR's Pearl & Mildred live in Coop de Clucks and they have a play pen in addition and now that we've moved to the mountains they live in a new fortress. Chicken math has struck me and we have nine fertile eggs coming 5/20/13 for my broody, Mabel, to hatch.  We also have 1 lab/german shepherd mix...

Coffee chaff is the outer shell that comes off the coffee beans.  You can pick it up from any coffee shop that does their own roasting (but call first to check availability).  Its free and it smells great!  Also it is very quick to compost.  here is a link to a BYC forum on chaff : http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/357286/coffee-chaff-i-did-it

Hello.. I love your coop. You have done a lovely job. The swing, the roof, the stump are all my faves. Nicely done. Also as far as the Coffee Chaff. Its wonderful I have used it a couple times in my run, my husband works in Seattle so I gave him the chore to call and pick it up:) I use it in the winter months  in our large run that is partly open on top. It mixes in well and does wonders for odors. Love It:)

I have another question, please?  Are we talking coffee shops like St**B**ks or specialty coffee shops that are locally owned?  I know we have a few, I'm just not sure they do their own roasting.  I have a girlfriend that is a coffee connoisseur so I'll ask her if she knows.   Thanks!

Yeah it has to be a coffee shop that roasts on site (not sta*bucks).
