Can chicks skip growers pellets??

My chicks are in the flock with their mother, they are going on to growers pellets in 3 weeks, but that means the other hens will have to go on it aswell, they have access to free ranging at all times, is there anyways i can skip putting them on it? or would it be best to put them on it. Sorry if this is a silly question, first time with chicks.

i think it's kinda good for them and it won't hurt the other birds to be on the grower... just provide oyster shell or some source of calcium for your layers.

Im struggling to find a non medicated grower

oh... that is a problem.  I'm not sure what you could do... there are some spots on here where people have made their own feed mixture... maybe you can research that and come up with an alternative to store bought feed?  Hope you can come up with something.

You can get nonmedicated purina flock raiser.  This is what I grow all my birds out on.
