She's still a she, don't worry. Just maturing and getting ready to kick out some nice brown eggs for you.

Well, the kittens aren't so cute anymore and the easter egger cockerels are in the freezer. Plus, I think offering them as "prizes" scared folks off! So, I'm still posting quotes, if you know it let me know. I'm very enamored of this new one, it may hang around for a while!

Buff orps are a crazy breed! I love them, but they are always trying to fool you at the last minute! tongue.png I love them because of that! You should have some eggs from her pretty soon! big_smile.png

Married, 1 son, I have a wonderful loving family, so that means my chickens get alot of love from us-well from me & my son mostly, but I like to pretend my husband loves it to! 1 collie dog, 2 Leghorns, 1 OEGB rooster, 5 Gold Comets,2 Dekalb Amberlinks, 2 Buff Brahma's, 2 Light Brahma's, 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Col. Rock Cross, 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes hens & 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte Rooster.

Has 1 white miniature schnauzer, one grey tiger Kitty, 4 Miniature Horses, 1 Shetland Pony, 1 Grey Polish Bunny, currently 45 chickens of every different size, color and personality, 7 baby buff laced brahmas, 1 baby Gold laced Brahma, and one Royal Palm Turkey~

yes as they are maturing the cockerels will get darker starting on the wings in the end they are a solid even color all over like a hens but just a tad bit darker in color

i would say hen, she might be ready to lay and that is why her comb sprouted a comb and wattle, and they reddened.
