4.5 month old RIR...girl or boy??

I was told my RIR is a girl when she was a month or so younger but now she is 4.5 months and I am being told she is a rooster?? Anyone help?? I so want her to be a girl:)

She looks like my reds and I have personally seen eggs drop out of their butts.  Don't worry!

Thats a girl. At that age, you'd have very long tail feathers going on already. And crowing. Here is a pic of a cockerel from feathersite.

Oh AWESOME!! That makes me feel so much better! I was set on it that she was a girl and then somebody made me question it!! ugh...so happy to see this! Thanks so much!!:)

To be honest none of the pictures posted in this thread were Rhode Island Reds. wink.png There all Production Reds except the giffs farm bird which looks like a hatchery quality welsummer or a cross.

OPs bird is a hen, and it looks like she should be laying--that's  a nice red comb.

Well, the kittens aren't so cute anymore and the easter egger cockerels are in the freezer. Plus, I think offering them as "prizes" scared folks off! So, I'm still posting quotes, if you know it let me know. I'm very enamored of this new one, it may hang around for a while!
