Thinking of going to Wilton TSC swap 2morrow morning.  I have Red Star Pullets ages 2 and 3 weeks and 8 and 9 weeks.  Anyone else going?

Don't ever go to the  Presque Isle Tractor Supply (TSC) show/meet up whatever. No one was there. We traveled for 3 hours and not one person was there.  It was a big waste of time money and effort. I will "never" go there again. Big disappointment. The only thing up there was the balloon show. That was great but the chicken meet sigh sigh sigh. Gas was 82.00 dollars, camping for two nights 24.00 eating at the cheapie McDonalds/Burger King/subway 30.00, no one showing up at the meet PRICELESS. :(  I even saved up a hundred dollars and was going to buy some ducks, chickens and a female goose if I could find one. I am so angry/upset I don't think I will go to any of the other ones. It's much better to just buy the eggs and hatch them instead of completely wasting over a hundred dollars. If you live withing a few miles it would have been ok but 3 hours away for nothing. Not going to happen again!!!!

Husband, 2 cats,  lots of chickens. Too many.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I've been to a few swaps this summer where I was the only one there and yes, it's disappointing. where do you live that you travelled that far?

We live in Old Town. I will probably be going to the somewhat local ones from now on. And one other thing if any of you ever do decide to go there BRING CASH. That place does not accept cc's in their tractor/feed stores. That is so lame to me. Maine is just such a slow state. I have lived here in Maine all my life and for the most part I love it. It surprises me that it is so behind the times. Sighs. Live and learn. Who doesn't accept cc's these days? Who does that? Sorry for the rant.

Just wanted to buy some new stock for my pens. Anyone know of any meets that has a good crowd of sellers? I would rather buy from someone than buy the eggs as long as I know they will show up for the meet. Buying the eggs takes too long to grow up. I might not have that kind of time left. I am not young. LOL.

generally augusta has a good number of sellers but this time of year, the fairs tend to take people away. augusta has 2 swaps in sept due to having a "4th" and "Last" saturday, normally they are the same saturday but sept has both which is unusual.

this swap is also right off the interstate exit 112 (not sure if that's A or B) but that will give you an idea of milage.

Thanks I know where it is. I lived in Augusta for 4 years, 25 years ago. Not far from the Civic Center. I might go to the meet if I can get away from quilting for a day. My business picks up this time of year as it gets closer to Christmas.
