I asked my husband the same! He said NO, we don't have room for turkeys. Maybe next year.

This is a common problem with turkeys. I think about half of the folks who I sell birds to who tell me "we're going to eat them!" still have them a year later. Once they discover turkeys have personality they can't bring themselves to do the deed.

A bronze tom strutting in the sunshine does make for some mighty fine yard art though.

I drink that wine all the time. LMAO.
I bought a bottle of that wine just to get the label!

But no, my boy isn't Rex. He's a lot bigger than that!

Yay!

Have you had any experience with the RIR? I almost got some but my friend told me that her parents had them and they were very aggressive? Any truth in that, or did they just have mean chickens?

Setting new batch of coturnix quail eggs. After the devastating loss that led to only one survivor, I'm trying again

Good Luck! I hope your hatch is much better this time...

I've never seen a quail in real life? Are they for eating? or eggs?

Eeeek.

I just started the 12 hour process that is, recalibrating my digital thermometer/hygrometer.

I absolutely love this thing, but I was so impatient that I didn't want to wait 12 hours and calibrate it when I got it, so my temps may have been off.

I can't love this thing enough, if you want a good little hygrometer/thermometer, the Xikar digital hydrometer is the way to go :) I paid $25 for it at the local cigar shop but it's already paid itself off in accurate measurements [more accurate than the other crap thermometers I had in there before ] Lol.

I'm also cleaning the incubator, I had one Mille fleur d'Uccle egg that looked like it was going to hatch, but he's made no progress at all and I can't see anything candling him so I'm tossing the egg and hoping I wasn't wrong.
