whoa! That's a weird one alright. Is that protruding area at the top hollow? Looks it.

Yep, it's hollow, and it goes down to the membrane.  The thin part of the shell is just membrane too.  Such a weird one!

I had an egg shaped like that, like a bullet! It turned out to be a double yolker!

In my house there are: 4 barred rocks, 4 welsummer bantams, 3 buff orpingtons, 6 rabbits (mini lops), 1 standard poodle, 1 leopard gecko.

:welcome  :epDid you open the egg yet? I had a large one like it and it was an egg inside an egg and both eggs had double yolks. Just curious.

Wow!  I was starting to worry about my chickens because they've been laying some strange eggs, but I feel better after looking at all these other pictures!  I guess they all do strange things!  That's what makes chickens so interesting, right?  Here are some of my strange eggs...

This big one was only the 2nd egg she ever laid!

You will see some weird eggs every once in awhile. You may go for quite a spell and everything will be normal then you will find an oops.

My find yesterday

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Unfortunately the one broke in the nesting bin. It had a yolk and the intact portion also had a yolk.
