That's awesome. I actually got a call from our district councilman Larry Hug this morning. He's totally on our side, and is going to present our case at the pre-council meeting tomorrow, as well as ask for a moratorium on all fines until the ordinance can be formally addressed. No promises, but it's definitely progress!

We should definitely plan to do this!

Well I was going to suggest doing more than a petition but it's sounds like you are headed in the right direction! I am from Ohio but I will sign! Remind the council that our President said we need to go back to some of our old ways of doing things. Backyard chickens are old school and growing rapidly! Tell them it is time for change revise all those old codes!

Signed the petition. Best of luck.

My first post, from central IL! Excited to learn and produce organic eggs with my 70 ladies and to partake in this community! Again, good luck!

I didn't catch the president saying that. I will bring it up, but when/where did the president say that?

If memory serves, it went something like this:

"We worked with the financial sector to start doing things the old-fashioned way" - President Obama

Just shot off an e-mail to the mayor of Joliet regarding the letter he wrote to a fellow byc keeper.  Boy, he's not the smartest ball in the bag, is he?
