Barred Rock, Pullet or Rooster? - Page 3

I don't really know, as a Newbie myself I am learning as I go, but I am saying pullet because she looks alot like mine and I have been told she is a pullet.  I got five chicks from my pet chicken and so far I know one is a roo, but I have to wait until they are 10 weeks old to let them know.

Any updates on the gender of you barred rock? Mine looks similar and I'm hoping for a pullet so wondering if yours has given any definite signs yet...

Now following this thread! :)

I have 2 cats, 1 Golden Retriever, 2 gold fish, and now 16 chickens! :)

Tough Cookie (T.C.) Cleo, at 6 weeks old, died in April 2012. Kanaliha Cleo, at 9 weeks old, died on May 14, 2013. Both were EE's. They are greatly missed.

Thanks for the update!  I think mine is a pullet too - she had one long tailfeather but it recently fell out and she hasn't developed any pointy saddle feathers.  Congrats on your girl - she's lovely!

You can tell by the color. See how black she is? Barred Rock Roos are gray.

With barreds I can always tell by the color, the females are always darker than the males. Yours looks like a Pullet . :)
