Can't you spray it with some scotch guard? That is supposed to repel stains

Hmm. i might do that too, but in my feed mill the gamebird is actually cheaper, $15 dollars.

Can I ask how you get your birds to eat corn? Mine wont touch whole corn, and they leave the cracked corn too. The squirrels eat it.

Corn is for chickens, not mutants.

Where are you located at? At the store we are definately seeing the price differance from the drought. Beef is darn near $1 /pound. All those poor ranchers giving up their livelyhood for my sketti!

So much so that I waited a whole year for it to come around again, and purchased some from him the next year- and then use my raffle prize to get some as well this year.

My family all loves Sams' chicken- and talks about it afterwards. I really have a problem eating chicken now that I own them- dont even get me started on my inability to eat chicken embryos...eggs...- however, Sams' chicken is my exception.  droolin.gif

Smoked turkey is another delicacy- havent had that in years. But I remember it.

We usually fill our freezer twice a year- a pig and half a beef. My brother in law raises them. Lasts us all year. Every year I end up with pork after the venison and beef is gone. I hate pork. sickbyc.gif  (only half a hypocrite, Olive. )

My husband cant smoke anything either so i can relate. In fact, I told him he has to have Sam teach him how to do it right. It is really an art to do correctly. Nope if you cant roll it, my husband aint smokin it here. No wonder you didnt like the way Sam's smelled, after being around smokin' all summer long..probably brought back bad memories for you.

I pay $650-$700 for half a cow. Ummm, at live weight of the high end of a thousand pounds- I have no idea what half dressed weight is- but I get a TONNNNN of meat. AND the hamburger is NOTHING like what you buy at the store. Its more like the ground sirloin- very very lean.

I didn't eat much at chickenstock. Once I ate the chicken I threw everything else out. I'm super sensitive with food. I didn't used to be, I used to eat a LOT more than I do now...veggies of all kinds, etc. Now the only veggies I eat are corn and broccoli, absolutely nothing else. If I smell anything else and it smells bad I have to stop eating. Most dinners, even though Aric is a fabulous cook, I eat about half and give the rest to animals or Aric lol. It's gotten much worse since I began my infusions for my psoriatic arthritis!

WOW!! All of our birds eat cracked or whole corn like it's candy! I won't serve whole corn to the call ducks or bantams but I do everyone else. In the winter we give warm corn to them an hour before sundown as a snack to keep them warm.

So it's official, I have TWO broken toes.

Sadly and comically, my disability makes me fall...constantly. No joke, I fall at least 3x a week! I laugh it off because I have literally broken every bone in my body at least once. Most more than twice. Some more than 5x! Today it was 2 toes..again. My big toe and the little one next to it are black as night!

Today I was sitting at the computer editing pictures. The phone rang and it's 5 feet away so I got up to answer it and tripped...on my own foot..fell into a box on the floor with cereal and crackers (because we only have 2 shelves in the kitchen) and my foot got stuck on a tote full of snacks. I have big bruises on my right arm and leg too. Kinda funny but painful when the only thing I can wear are sandals as long as there isn't snow on the ground!

45 minutes after falling we went to do laundry and literally I was sitting there watching my toes get blacker! Those toes have been broken so many times it's not just pathetic, it's hilarious! lol

Hopefully I can sleep!

As I said, that is from a numbers standpoint only.  Nova (and most of the people on this thread) know how I feel about the quality and economic side of it so there's no sense in rehashing it.

lau.gif My money is where my mouth is- so it makes it difficult for me to eat my food. In fact, since the beef go to slaughter in December, one year I said I was wrapping up hamburger and steaks to be gifts for everyone since I had no other money left for gifts. My dog would like me to put those kind of gifts under the tree on Christmas Eve...... Merry Christmas! Is it an x-box? Nooo, its a roast!

Oh they eat fresh corn, but not dried corn.  Spoiled, yes they are.
