When to start giving grit to baby chicks?

When do you start giving grit to chicks?  I have 5, 2 day olds and would like to know if I need to start giving them grit into the food now or at some later point in time?  Also typically would the starter feed come with it?

If they are only eating their starter then no they won't need grit. If they have access to bare dirt they will forage their own from the dirt. You can offer it in a separate container and let the eat it if they want. I bought 10 lbs when I got my six chicks and still have half of it left six months later. I just throw a handful in the run every week to make sure they have plenty. Gives them something to do foraging.

My chicks are out with mama so I'm assuming there getting grit from soil, but I'm getting a bag in case today, will they need it with egg yolk from boiled eggs? She got egg yolk today and fed it all to her chicks. She also has them in dirt so are they getting grit?
