Western WA chicken owners: Light Brahma Roo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got The Call this morning every new chicken mom dreads... Dixie is a Dixon. My suspicions were confrimed when My husband found out this morning ( I leave for work at 5 am) when the dog's howls and barks woke him. After he settled the dog down he realized the cause of the howling was Dixie.. who proclaimed to the world this moring he is really to be called Dixon. WIll said he went out to check it out and Dixon was prancing around the outdoor enclosure crowing and very proud of himesled. If he had to crow I'm sad I missed the first time. I would have loved to see him figure it out and be so proud. I'm upset but I think I have known for a few weeks. He is a very handsome funny healthy bird who takes good care of the girls, and is sweet to me. I nursed this one along for  1-2 weeks at birth. My husband, who is in charge of "neighbor relations" has been telling me since before we got chickens then there will be NO roosters (even though the city allows if your neighbors don't complain). He is still giving me a hard NO. I need to rehome this big beautiful guy, he is between 18-19 weeks old a hatchey Light Brahma. I will only allow him to go to a safe home where he has safe shelter and won't be killed for meat. We live in Western WA, and I'm happy to take him to someone who wants him and meets the above criteria. Please share with friends! Thanks for all of your advice and help

100% roo, but it has been known for hens to crow, lol

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

In Jesus name Amen :)

I don't know where in Western Washington you are, but if you are near Portland, OR there are a couple "rooster rescues" that will take in unwanted roos and let them live out their lives without fear of being dinner. I would take him as he's beautiful, but my husband is trying to convince me that I already have one too many roos (I only have 2 lol). Best of luck to you and Dixon

I am a wife, nurse and mother to: 1 EE, 3 OE, 1 White Leghorn, 1 Barred Rock,  2 GLW, 1 BLRW rooster,  1 Cuckoo Marans, 1 BCM, 1 BO, 1 Blue Andalusian, 1 Ancona, 3 Ameraucana (2 Blue Wheaten, 1 Blue).   Oh and 2 pit bulls, 1 black lab, 3 Nigerian Pygmy goats, a cat and 4 ducks (3 Indian Runners, 1 Khaki Campbell) :-)

Thanks so much! I will keep that in mind! I would gladly make the trip to OR if he would be safe... I really want to keep him, so i'm starting that battle with my husband. I my theroy is that I have 2 neightbors with roosters so why is it a big deal to have one more on the street.. I guess if people really start complaining the city will step in. I'll keep you posted! Thanks for your thoughts!
