i'm giving up on my rooster bloodlines...... i started my flock in 08... had the nicest rooster ever.. he was great, his offspring were great.... then i had a coon attack that wiped out my flock.. so i hatched what eggs i had.. kept 2 roos out of that batch, both turned mean... hatched out some more, kept 2 roos, both mean.... did this 1 more time, again, mean roosters... what sucks is the few people i'm still in contact with, that i gave roosters to, love their nice tame roosters.... so all it took was 1 bad pick out of my hatch to throw a wrench into my flock..... so yesterday i went and got me a sussex roo,, he seems sweet, let's ya pet him/hold him etc... he's still young, 4 months old, so we'll see.... now i'm heading out to catch walter, he's been warned several times..... it's mean rooster chicken soup on thursday night.....

Time for a new rooster!!
I got a rooster at about four months old and he was really tame. He is now 6 months and is still really tame. There has only been one time when he tried anything. When he did, I grabbed him and just sat there with him until he had had enough. He hasn't tried since. (that was about a month ago.)
I've got 2 cats, Dyllen and Star. I have 17 chickens; 3 BLRW, 3 mutts, 2 EEs, 2 White Rock roosters, 1 RIR, 1 White Leghorn, 1 Red Star, 1 Golden Campine, 1 unknown hen, 1 Partridge cochin, and 1 Golden Polish. I also have 1 Swedish/Black Indian Runner with her three ducklings.
