They do not like being held it causes major stress for them. Not a good choice for any hands on anything.

But seeing, feeding and hearing (well holding while they are still ducklings is okay, right?) is still a great sensory activity...the elders at the nursing home that are incapable of doing cognitive activities need sensory related activities..
