Could she be a bantam?

We have two chicks that are about 6 months old. One has not started laying yet but the other has been laying little eggs for about two weeks. Could she be a bantam? Or is she still getting used to egg laying?

If she is a small bodied bird she is a bantam.  The eggs will get get larger too, but never reach the size of a large fowl.

I don't get better with age, only more confused(ing).

If she is laying she is near full size, if she is as big as your Large Fowl (LF) she is not a bantum.  Bantams are smaller bodied than their LF cousins.
