New from Newfoundland!

New member and new chicken owner here. =]

I'm no stranger to farms and farm animals, but this is my first time actually owning chickens myself.  Around a week ago I adopted two chicks from my friend who no longer had room for these after having to incorporate chickens from her mothers flock.  The other night at work I was speaking to a man who lived nearby who was looking to rehome a rhode island red chick.  Lucky for me, this house I bought last fall has a baby barn with built in chicken coop and protected run. =]

Glad to have you here.

And yes indeed you are lucky to have been blessed with the chicken coop!

Thanks!

ZaksGarden:  All I had to do with the coop was clean it out and fix some wire.  I already had hay and pine shavings because of my rabbits, too.  A little more work will have to be done before winter hits, just to make sure they stay good and warm. =]

Hi and welcome-byc.gif

Good luck with your chicks. That's awesome that you had almost all the stuff ready to start with. We had the coop too, but it was a bit ratty when we first moved in. lol.png

I hope you find all the info you need here, and enjoy the site. big_smile.png
