My Nanna always called them Bitties!! I forgot!! Kewl thanks for the memory pull!!!!
 
I call my just hatched Iddy Bitties, then when they grow some pullets, after a year old hens. My boys are called trouble LOL. There always trouble to get rid of them. I've been fortunate & have sold all my cockerels I don't need.
 
German: Huhn Hahn for rooster

Chinese: 鸡 Rooster 公鸡 If you look closely, you can see a chicken in the drawing 鸡

Swahili for rooster: jogoo Chicken: kuku

In mandarin chinese the word for chicken is pronounced "Gi."

In El Salvador they called chicks "pio" after the sound they make. pio pio pio. The real name is pollito which translates to "little chicken"
