Dont give it a name that doesn't say what the section is for. If it isn't clear to new visitors they won't post in it and then moderators will spend time moving posts constantly.

Naming it: Breeds/Gender/Showing. Would leave no doubt what the section is about for those who are new.

Wow!  This is great!  I am so excited to see the duck subsection!  I would love to see a subsection for geese as well.  For now it will be great to see such an improvement for the duck forum.  Thank you to all that are involved.  I know it will be truly appreciated.  celebrate.gif
 

One amazing wife, 3 kids, an American Buff gander, 2 American Buff goose goslings, 1Embden gosling, 3 Toulouse goslings, 3 adult and 4 duckling pekins, 1 WR rooster, 5 WR hens, 1 buff orpington, 1 old beloved mix breed hen, a bunch of chicks for the freezer, ducklings hatching in the incubator, 2 barn cats, and a red standard poodle.

I don't see any problem with a General section.  

I like browsing the varied mix of posts that are there now.  While I will be thrilled to be able to find relevant info when I need it, I would be sad to not have a broad section to peruse when I have an extra moment.  I learn a lot of useful things that way, and feel like grouping EVERYTHING into a category will lose that aspect of the site.

You can still do that under chickens. Click chicken breeds for example. You will get everything in one grouping for those four subsections. smile.png I'm sure this would be the same idea with the ducks and the geese.

I have a suggestion for the Duck Emergencies. 

 

Could the Emergencies and Predators be combined? They seem like a duo that would go hand and hand to me. Plus many people keep their ducks on Lakes and Ponds. This makes them more vulnerable to a whole array of predators that vary from predators that would be likely to take Chickens.

I'm very very glad to hear this ...

 

I like the subsections that are being suggested. I think the emergencies/predators as a combined section makes sense...  Breeds/Gender/Showings also sounds really good, if it was called what breed/gender is this people (especially newbies) would think that was just to post unknowns... not to find out about a breed, etc.

I'm a Dog trainer... I do Dog Agility... then I got the crazy idea to try herding so I've gotten ducks and some chicks for eggs... and now I may end up doing shows with them too... yes... I have lost my mind.

Oh and did I mention I do vehicle decals (right now it's mostly dog designs) and lettering... and Tshirt's and coaster sets and decorative tiles... hey I've been out of a regular job...
