Today, I would a personal favor of those of you
that would, to take a moment to read my words
and consider what I'm asking.
One of my daughters good best friends, a young
teenage girl, is in the hospital with leukmia. This
time around she has been in the hospital since
before school ended this past spring.
Her whole summer. Spent in a clean room inside
a hospital. LIfe ending before it really even begins.
This past week she finally got to a point where she
is now at least allowed visitors. We spent much of
yesterday with her and her uncle. An aunt and uncle
have been the only parents these kids ever had.
Chemo has taken a hard toll on her.
She looked so fragile laying in her bed yesterday.
Her long pretty hair, gone. She looked so small.
So fragile.
And now the favor.
This hospital has a free "e-card" program for their
patients, by which anybody in the world can send
her a get-well card. By clicking on the site, it offers
many designs or for the more computer literate than
me, you can do your own design.
Many of us are parents, or a teen, or just someone
who cares. I know there's a lot of great members here.
And I would now ask that, if you would, to take a moment
and send this young girl a simple get well wish. To bring
a smile to a very broken girl.
I have asked Nifty, and in honoring the policy of this site
I will not post any of her personal information. Please PM
me, or Em, and we would share the necessary details to
send her a card.
Sign your real name, or your screen name..she isn't going
to know either. I would like to hear that she received cards
from every state and every county that BYC reaches.
And no, I will not see them. The only point of the cards is
to make a little girl smile.
She's a very sick little girl and she's in the fight of her life.
I'll make one last request that no one post to this thread.
No comments, no replys. No one knows who sends a card,
or who doesn't.
Spook...who has known this young girl her whole life.
