That is a VERY good idea!

Is the block sitting on anything or just on the ground?

Thank you!

I have a concret floor in my coop so its sitting on that.  I guess you could pick up a patio bring from the hardwar store to put under it if you ahve a dirt floor.

1 Blue JG and 1 Black JG,1 Penciled Rock Rooster.  1 Cornish chick, 5 Sussex, 3 mix chicks, 3 australorp chicks, 1 blue australorp chick, and one wild kitty!

10 meaties on the way, 2 red layers, 4 EE too!!!  Chicken Math strikes again!

The Rooster may crow, but it is the Hen that delivers the goods!

My younger birds seem to taste the oyster shell some, but I never noticed them really eating it. Then again, I guess they could be eating a lot and I really wouldn't know--it's not like I sit and watch them eat all day. I've never had ill or unthrifty birds, so I've just believed the young birds aren't eating it consistently. And adult hens really don't need that much.

Well, the kittens aren't so cute anymore and the easter egger cockerels are in the freezer. Plus, I think offering them as "prizes" scared folks off! So, I'm still posting quotes, if you know it let me know. I'm very enamored of this new one, it may hang around for a while!
